Well, the Winter Olympics are over, and February is fast coming to an end. Just about a month left until submissions are due! So here we go:

1. Anime Conventions.
2. Cosplaying.
3. Newsletter Update.

1. Anime Conventions

With February ending, it just dawned on me that Anime Convention season is revving up. For me, Katsucon signals the start of the season simply because I'm on the East coast of the USA, and many of my friends make the journey to Maryland. I also use Katsucon as a reminder that Anime Boston in Massachusetts and Sakuracon in Washington State are not too far away, and I start getting really excited.

One of my favorite things to do at Anime Conventions is people-watch. It's amazing to see so many fans coming together to enjoy and celebrate this form of entertainment. And huge bonus points when I can catch cosplayers in Samurai Trooper gear!

I caught a glimpse of Seiji's sword in the crowded Dealers Room and rushed over to ask for their picture! I may have totally fan-girled at them a bit too.

Which conventions do you all go to, and what's your favorite thing to do there?

2. Cosplaying

We've got some amazing cosplayers in the YST fandom who are submitting their pictures to the zine, and it got me wondering: is anyone planning on cosplaying in the YST universe this year? No pressure to submit anything to the zine, but I'd love to see pictures just for fun!

Honestly, I'm completely intimidated by cosplay, but I do dream of donning the Kikoutei/Inferno armor someday. Someday! Does anyone else have a dream cosplay in the YST universe that they'd love to do?

3. Newsletter Update

Now that we're down to less than 5 weeks, I'll be taking a break from drawing a new header image for the remaining newsletters. This is so I can start working on my own submissions and cover contest entries. The newsletter will still go out once a week, but the header image will just be repeats.

Thanks for your understanding! Let's get those submissions done!
