Ryo's Insignia

Hello fellow Ronin Warriors/Yoroiden Samurai Trooper fans!

I hope you're all well and having a safe, healthy, and happy holiday season. This email is an update to fill you all in on where we're at with the project. We're going to look at:

  1. Preferred communication method.
  2. Change of project ownership.
  3. Revised timeline and new submission date.

Let's get to it! ^_^

1. Preferred Communication Method

Before I get into anything else, I wanted to address the concerns about communication: many people have mentioned that email and the forums are not the "best" way of reaching them. I'd be more than happy to utilize other forms of communication, but I'll need to know which one(s) are preferred. I've made a Google Forms survey: three clicks, less than 30 seconds of your time to fill it out will be a huge help! And if you have more than 30 seconds to spare, let me know who you are or write a comment in the survey (this'll allow me to accommodate you if you happen to be the only one using a certain communication method).

2. Change of Project Ownership

Due to outside circumstances, Ty-Chou has passed the ownership of this project to me, Emily. You may know me by my aliases: complexcrystal (deviantart and youtube) and emwing (on the Samurai Fanservice Forums). Ty-Chou has done an amazing job rallying everyone to participate in this project, and I hope I can continue the momentum.

A little bit about me: I'm a comic artist, illustrator, and graphic designer who's currently taking classes to learn web design and development. I have experience creating and putting together books for print. I'm looking forward to working with all of you!

3. Revised Timeline

The original submission deadline was set to ; however, I think we can extend this out and still hit the goal of having a book available for order by the air-date 30th anniversary, .

The reasons for extending the timeline are:

  • It'd be great to get some more submissions, and the extended timeline may encourage some more.
  • In addition to submitted work, an artist/author bio is also requested for publication (to let other fans know who you are and where they can find/follow your work if you want). Please plan on sending a short 300-word bio.
  • Since books will be printed "on demand," there's no need to factor in printing and shipping time; this'll be left up to anyone who wants to order a book for themselves. I'll provide the file and the instructions to get it printed, and you pay the printer when you're ready to order.
  • As long as everyone submits their pieces by the new deadline, compiling the book will not take long.

New Submission Deadline:

Hopefully that wasn't too much information overload. To quickly sum it all up:

  • Please take the communication survey (you can take it more than once if you need to, just let me know in the comments area that you changed your answer).
  • The person running the project is now Emily, instead of Ty-Chou (nice to meet you!).
  • New submission deadline:

Feel free to reply to this email if you have any questions. I hope to check in with everyone with a less info-heavy update in the new year. Happy Holidays everyone!
